The Creator

The Growth of an Artist

Jakirah Davis was born and raised in the well known city; Miami, Florida. The only girl of three brothers and blessed to have grown in a two parent household. Inspired by her mother’s ability to provide for her and her brothers , she sought to do her best to succeed and pave a way for her family outside of the so-called “Model City.” Success did not come easily though. As a Black African-American young woman, her goal is to touch the hearts of many and she Aspires to Inspire generations to come. As she currently resides in the city of Brotherly Love in Philadelphia, PA; this has just become a placeholder for Davis to purposefully flow and understand this beautiful chaos we call life.
Jakirah had her next big endeavour in 2017 as she prepares for the next four years of her life in college attending The University of The Arts. What Davis didn’t know was that she would morph, grow, develop and become a part of organizations such as The Royal Band Dance Line, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and much of a breakthrough, being 1 of 3 founders of the very first heels organizations on UArts campus; eXsel. For Davis, college life was about experiencing lessons and during this time, she grew spiritually and closer to God. She knew that mentally, physically and emotionally; she could not make it off of her own strength.
As an artist who approaches creatives much more than just movement but also writing, poetry, modeling, makeup and reading; Jakirah implements all of these things as a baseline of her identity. She hopes to continue to walk tall as a woman who is real, raw and relatable. There’s a saying that she strongly follows: “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Within all of the craziness and the past years, Jakirah was able to work with; Kyle and Dinita Clarke, Thom White, Justmadeofficial, Naiqwanwanya and The Ladies of eXsel.
As a shortcoming, Jakirah will soon graduate from The University of The Arts Dance Program with her Bachelors of Fine Arts.
